The “Open Psychedelics” Definition

Being a staunch promoter of freedom, free software, the GNU and Open Licensing, in order to ensure free and open exchange of psychedelic information, I propose the Open Psychedelics Definition as follows:

• Open Psychedelics aims to promote freedom of information and access to information about psychedelics and related research, and to dispel negative stereotypes and misinformation about psychedelics. By following the principles of open-source software and the Free Software Foundation’s freedoms, Open Psychedelics seeks to create a more informed, supportive, and inclusive community around psychedelics and their potential benefits.

• The concept of ‘Open Psychedelics’ is based on the principles of open-source software and the Free Software Foundation’s freedoms. Just as open-source software is freely available to anyone who wants to use it, Open Psychedelics aims to promote freedom of information and access to information about psychedelics and related research.

• Open Psychedelics supports the free flow of information about psychedelics and related research, without any restrictions or barriers. This includes access to high-quality, accurately researched articles and resources that are openly available to anyone who seeks them.

• Open Psychedelics supports honesty and transparency in all aspects of research and reporting on psychedelics. This includes the promotion of ethical standards and informed consent in all research and psychotherapy practices that involve psychedelics.

• Open Psychedelics believes that psychedelic experiences should be available to anyone who desires to engage with them, free from government interference or restrictions. This includes supporting the legalization of psychedelics and the removal of all existing legal barriers to their use and research.

• Open Psychedelics supports open experimentation with psychedelics, both for personal and scientific purposes. This includes encouraging the development of safe, effective, and evidence-based protocols for the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy and related fields.

• Open Psychedelics is committed to the principles of open-source and open access, and will make all of its resources and materials available under creative commons or similar licenses. This includes supporting the development of open-source tools and technologies for psychedelic research and psychotherapy.

• Open Psychedelics recognizes the value of community-driven research and encourages collaboration and sharing of information among members. This includes promoting respect for the diverse experiences and perspectives of individuals who use or study psychedelics, and creating a supportive and inclusive community for all.

Psychedelic Organization Compliance

Furthremore, in order to be able to use “Open Psychedelics” as a stricker, any organization establishing themselves as a Psychedelic company or group, must adhere to the following tenets. (Organization is any party, person, or entity able to engage in psychedelic discourse).

1. The organization is dedicated to promoting and defending the principles of freedom of information, open access, and open experimentation with psychedelics, consistent with the principles of the Open Source Definition, the Free Software Foundation, and the GNU.
2. The organization shall provide accurate and honest information about psychedelics and related research, and shall strive to dispel any false or misleading information in circulation.
3. The organization shall adhere to strict ethical standards in all aspects of research and psychotherapy practices involving psychedelics, including informed consent, confidentiality, and respect for individual autonomy.
4. The organization shall provide high-quality articles, resources, and information about psychedelics and related research, freely accessible to all individuals.
5. The organization shall actively work towards the legalization of psychedelics and the removal of all existing legal barriers to their use and research, and shall advocate for responsible and regulated access to psychedelics.
6. The organization shall make all of its resources and materials available under creative commons or similar licenses, promoting the principles of open-source and open access.
7. The organization shall support the development of safe, effective, and evidence-based protocols for the use of psychedelics in psychotherapy and related fields, and shall promote education and awareness about their benefits and risks.
8. The organization shall recognize the value of community-driven research and shall encourage collaboration and sharing of information among members, including through the use of open-source technologies and tools.
9. The organization shall work to dispel negative stereotypes and misinformation about psychedelics and shall promote education and awareness about their benefits and risks.

11. The organization shall ensure that all of its activities and operations are conducted in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
12. The organization shall have a formal dispute resolution process to resolve any conflicts or disputes that may arise between members, consistent with principles of fairness and impartiality.
13. The organization shall maintain accurate and complete records of its activities and operations, including financial records and minutes of meetings, and shall make such records available to members upon request.
14. The organization shall appoint an independent auditor to review its financial records annually, and shall make the results of such audit available to members.
15. The organization shall have a board of directors responsible for overseeing its activities and operations, and shall hold regular meetings to conduct the business of the organization.
16. The organization shall have a membership system that is open to all individuals who support its mission and objectives, and shall provide members with voting rights and other benefits.
